David Bateson confirmed to return in Hitman Absolution

Last year, loyal Hitman gamers fell prey to the shocking news that Hitman voice actor and character model, David Bateson, would not return to reprise his role as 47 in the upcoming 5th installment of the Hitman series, Hitman: Absolution. Initially, IO interactive asked Bateson to audition for his role. Despite succeeding, he was not given any news of anything concerning Hitman Absolution. When this occurred, Bateson gave the news to fans across the world, explaining what had happened. It was not until around August 2011 that the developer announced Bateson's absence from Hitman Absolution. From this point, petitions broke out across the net, shouting their displeasure.

Finally, on August 28th, Bateson's video made its way onto the internet, announcing his return to the game. (Original video shown)

Jon Brooke, Brand Manager of the Hitman Franchise, released a statement, saying:
“IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get.”

This will be good news for those intending to pre-order Hitman Absolution, which is currently on sale on Steam for $44.99 USD or you can pre-purchase the Pro Edition for $53.99 USD. Also, for a limited time only, players will also receive access to a DLC (possibly soon-to-be a stand alone game), Hitman Sniper Challenge.
