Torchlight is an action RPG that came in the recent Humble Bundle 6! It is sort of like Diablo, but yet it is also different in some ways. I will explain what I like about it and it's similarity to Diablo below!
Ok, so first off is what I like about Torchlight. In Torchlight you play as one of three characters, The Destroyer, which is your typical sword-carrying-brute, The Alchemist, which is a mage-type person that is short to medium range and can summon minions to help at your side, and The Vanquisher, who is your long-ranged-badass-sexy-girl-type character, she shoots long ranged weapons such as bows, guns and more! I like all of these characters, and love The Destroyer the most. There are many different creative enemies, and many ways to kill them too. You can kill them with skills, auto attacks, or minions/pets. It is one of my favourite action RPGs that I have played. There are also many side-quests, which I happen to love, so there's lots of replay value. If you haven't played this game yet, as I said before it is in the current Humble Bundle (Number 6), so you should go get it!
Now to talk about the similarities to Diablo, and how it's also different! This game is basically the same game as Diablo, but there are a few small differences that differentiate the games all together. It is like Diablo in many ways, including the combat, abilities, and the characters. In Torchlight there is The Destroyer, The Vanquisher, and The Alchemist, which are equivalent to The Berserker, The Demon Hunter, and The Mage in Diablo 3. The combat is similar because it is the normal hit-and-kill gameplay of an action RPG. The abilities are the same as in you can use them the same, and you choose where you want to be able to use them (1,2,3,4, and 5). It is also different in some ways, including the graphics and the abilities. The graphics are much different, as the Torchlight graphics are cartoony, while the Diablo 3 graphics are more new and fresh like. The abilities are different because in Torchlight when you spend your point on an ability you can't take it back, while in Diablo 3 you can take away your spent skill points and use them on something else. Torchlight and Diablo 3 are very different... while very alike!
Overall, Torchlight is a fun, cartoony, action packed RPG and I would recommend buying it (Especially since it's in the Humble Bundle 6). Thank you all for reading and as always, game on!
